MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage therapy addresses a variety of health conditions, while relieving pain and discomfort including stress-related tension.
Some of the physiological benefits of massage are:
• Increasing circulation, allowing the body to pump more blood, oxygen and nutrients into
tissues and vital organs.
• Stimulating the lymphatic system, the body's natural defense against toxic invaders.
• Relaxing and softening injured and overused muscles.
• Reducing muscles spasms and cramping.
• Increasing joint flexibility.
• Speeding recovery time from strenuous workouts and eliminating associated pains of
the athlete of any level.
• Releasing endorphins, the body's natural painkiller.
• Reducing post-surgery adhesions and edema and reducing and realigning scar tissue
after healing has occurred.
• Improving range of motion (ROM) and decreasing discomfort for those with low back pain.
• Relieving pain for migraine or head ache sufferers and decreasing the need for medication.
• Contributing to shorter labor and decreased discomfort for expectant mothers.
There are a variety of massage techniques, including light pressure, deep tissue, trigger point, myofascial release, stone (hot & cold), sports, pregnancy/prenatal and chair massage.
We offer FREE COURTESY SCREENINGS by a Licensed Physical Therapist for anyone who is experiencing musculoskeletal pain or dysfunction to determine if Manual Physical Therapy or Massage is an appropriate treatment according to their signs and symptoms.
We also incorporate massage into all physical therapy treatment plans, often utilizing both hot and cold stones to assist with the recovery of damaged or strained tissues.
